Mira-Bhayadar (East) earlier used to be considered as a region that lacks basic educational infrastructure as far as Higher Education was considered. This sense of lack led me and my team to think over the issue of the higher education seriously and urgently. No institution for higher education student’s painful communication to various colleges in Mumbai and the educational need of the lower - middle class made us establish Shree Shankar Narayan Education Trust. Shankar Narayan College of Arts and Commerce in 1994, the year of inception. A minute reading of the Mira-Bhayandar lead me towards startling conclusions i.e the population of the area has low literacy rate and the thorough absence of the consciousness of higher education. It gives me abundant happiness that the said people’s wards ar being graduated from the college, to whom graduation was a dream, an inaccessible zone. We initiated with 2 digit numbers in 1994 with a poor infrastructure and today we have a huge building with all the amenities and standards for more than 6500 students. The college is responsible for more tha 600 polished graduates with a keen sense of culture and modern values. The alumni of the college are well placed in different organization and serving the society well. My vision is to continue the dissemination of higher education all the generation to come. For catering the various professional needs of students we have graduation in Accounting & Finance, banking & Insurance, Management Studies, financial Marketing, Computer Science an Information Technology. TH sister institutes like Rohidas Patil Institute of Management Studies (MMS) and Pravin Patil Institute of Diploma Engineering & Technology (Polytechnic) in the campus are our equal efforts for imparting Management and Technical education respectively. We are always working towards better dwork and hence better creation
