Students' Council & Culturals
Year 2011-12
As per the guidelines of university of Mumbai and Maharashtra University Act, our college constituted students’ council and cultural committee for the academic year 2011-12. Mr. Vinit Mishra (T.Y.B.A.) and Mr. Mahavir Rajpurohit were elected as the General and Cultural Secretary of the college respectively. Cultural committee and students’ council always strives hard to provide platform to students to showcase their talents in various fields.
In this academic year University of Mumbai organized “Youth Festival” i.e. intercollegiate cultural competition on 17Aug 2011. One Folk Dance group won third price in the festival. Nikhil Panhalkar won 1st price in Western Instrumental, Miss Priya Khedkar and Juilee Patil won 1st prize in Debate. Miss Namrata Dhamnekar won 1ST prize in Elocution. Mr. Shrikant kirkire won 2nd prize in college.
Our Fashion Show Group has participated and won in various intercollegiate Festivals. One fashion group won 1st prize in “Ethos” organized by H.K. Institute of Management studies. Mr. Pratik and Group won 2nd prize in “Horizon” organized by G.G. College and 3rd prize in” Kshitij” organized by Mithibai college. One student won 2nd prize in street Dance in “Horizon” organized by G.G College at vasai.
The Folk Dance Group won 1st prize in “Harshollas” organized by “Sydnehym” college. Madu Singh won 2nd prize in Essay Competition in V.M. Munshi Memorial Trophy organized by Bhavans College. Miss Ibrizulula Kanorwala won consolation prize in the same event.
The college is really proud of students, because of their extra-ordinary performance in the intercollegiate festivals. Mr. Pravin Kumavat consistently won many prize in various festival. He won 1st prize in singing competition organized by, Thakur College and Ratnam College. Also, He won 2nd prize in Mithibai, Dalmia College, Hinduja College, Saraf College and Reena Mehta College.
Mahavir Rajpurohit won prizes in many intercollegiate singing competitions. He won 2nd prize in Ratnam College, 2nd prize in Saraf College and 2nd prize in our intercollegiate event Udaan.
Our Drama Association has participated and won prizes in various intercollegiate events. One act play competition, Vishal Pawar won “Best Actor” prize in Drama entry-exit organized by Mahatma Phule College. He won Acting consolation Certificate in prestigious competition “Mrugajal”. Miss Yojna Padelkar won Best Actress prize in “Konkan Trophy” for one act play entry-exit. The drama group consistently reached and selected in final round of various intercollegiate competition.
This year we organized cultural week from 16Dec-20Dec.2011, to promote Indian culture and to encourage the college students to show their hidden talent. The festival was inaugurated with a very dazzling rocking “Rock Band”. In this festival we organized competitions like Clay Modeling, Best out of waste, Poster making, Cartooning, Mehendi, Hair Styling, Nail-Art, Fashion Show, Singing, Rangoli, and Traditional Dress Competition. All the competitions received very good response from students. We also organized “Fun-Fair” during Cultural week. 33 groups had put-up Food & Game stalls.
Annual Day was organized on 24 December 2011, 150 students participated in various events like filmy Dance, Folk Dance, Hip-Hop and Western Dance. Film actors Gulshan Pandey, Arun Kadam, Bhakti Punjani and Sanyogita Bhave attended and whole heartily appreciated our students on annual day.
