Following are the project undertaken for the academic year 2011 – 12
Health & Hygiene (Project)
Blood Donation Drive:-
On 13th July 2011 the blood donation camp was organized. Jointly with the collaboration of J.J. Blood Bank and Nair central Blood Bank. The Camp was inaugurated by Shri Rohidasji Patil, Chairman of Shree Shankar Narayan Education Trust,264 bottles of Blood donated to the blood Bank.
Fitness Camp :-
The college level Fitness camp was organized on 22nd July 2011. This Camp was organized with the celebration at Santum Zims 158 students benefited.
Anti- Drug workshop:-
On 1st July 2011 we organized workshop on anti-drug jointly with Navghar Police Station Pol. Investigation officer. Shri Dinkar Pingle, assistant Pol. Investigation Shri Shivarkar, Shri Shrish Jadhav & Psychologist Dr. Gambhir guided and advised in this workshop. Around 150 vol. attended this workshop and get benefited.
Cancer awareness workshop:-
With the support of Tata Cancer Detective center organized cancer awareness workshop on 26th and 29th Aug 2011 or boys and girls to create awareness about the serious disease cancer. The separate session has organized for girls to create awareness about breast cancer more than 1000 students get benefited by this workshop.
Visit to Bhakti Vedant Hospital:-
The NSS vol. with P.O. visited Bhakti Vedant Hospital and to get information of the services of the hospital and meet the various types of patients suffering by various disease.
Disaster Management:-
It is one of the compulsory projects allotted by Mumbai University. The various activities under this project are as follow:-
Disaster Management Cell:-
On 17th Aug 2011disaster Management all was formed with 30 volunteers. This cell has started functioning actively, first they hold on the responsibility of Traffic Control during the Ganpati emersion Programme. On 7th &11th Sep 2011. With the support of Mira- Bhayandar Traffic Police. They have controlled the mod and tried to maintain the discipline. During Disaster Management half montly Project organized by Thane district the two days Disaster Management Training Programme has organized with the support of Sarista foundation, Mahim. The five college of mira-Bhayandar i.e. Abhinav college, Reena Mehta college, Royal college, Keluskar college, Nalasopara with S.N. College jointly participated in this training Programme. In this training programme 125 Vol. of all above colleges get trained about how to protect the people during flood, fire, earthquage and bomblast etc.
Rasta Suraksha Abhiyan:-
As per the order of Maharahtragovt. From 18th Dec. 2011 to 22nd Dec 2011 the various competition like Essay writing, Poster making & Debate are conducted at college level and the winner of that competition were participated at District level competition held at G.G.College on 20th Dec 2011. This competition were based on Traffic control & Road Safety.
AIDS Awareness (Project):-
The Red Ribbon club of the NSS unit of our college was formed under the AIDS awareness at college level with 15 volunteers as the member of this club.
The Red Ribbon club organized AIDS awareness week from 26th Nov. to 3rd Dec. 2011. Poster making and slogan making competition, rally as well as seminar and conference are the major activities during this week. This year we organized one of the youth conference themed values are invaluable on 1st Dec 2011 at the University level jointly with Bhakti Vedant youth foundation were more than 35 college of Mumbai University Participated in it, more than 400 vol. of different colleges were participated & benefited by this conference. The participated certificates were distributed to all the participants.
On 2nd Dec. organized rally at Mira-Bhayandar locality on aids awareness also the street play more performed at different corners of Mira-Bhayandar.
National Integration & Communal harmony (Project):-
As per the university circular from 24th Sept to 30th Sept celebrated communal harmony week various competition as like Essay, Poster Making were conducted at college level, on 29th Sept 2011. On communal Harmony intercollegiate group Singing, Street Play, Dance etc. ompetition were conducted. The Abhinav college, G.G.College, Vertak college, Reena Mehta, Ambedkar college, Royal college sent Joseph senior college with S.N.College were the participants in it. The best performance honoured with certificate & trophies.
Environment awareness & Resources Conservation Project
From last two year we are organizing mega monsoon marathon on global warming in the month of August. This year also on 21st Aug 2011 this marathon has well orgnised, marathon 50 college of Mumbai University are participated. The 5156 students of different colleges were participated in it. Some participants having play cards with slogan and message. The first 10 runners among boys and girls were hounored by chief guest Shri Siv Chatrapati Sanjay Madhav. With traffies, certificates, cash prizes and goodies by the corporate. The participants of marathon were the T-Shirts gifted by Shri Rohidasji Patil Chairman of Shree Shankar Narayan Education Trust.
The collegeNSS unit celebrated 15th Nov to 20th Nov. Energy conservation awareness. Programme/Activities in the farm of Display of poster, Seminar, Debate, Elocution etc. the message about evergy conservation has passed among 6500 students in college campus.
University level activity
Pre-Adventure camp meeting:-
Three girls & four boys volunteers with one P.O. selected for the Adventure camp at Chikhaldara from Thanu district west zone one girl miss Smita Hodar has selected for that camp and the pre-prepation for the camp has one by S.N.College P.O. This camp was during the period 12th Sept 2011 to 17th Sept 2011. The pre camp meeting for the selected participents held on 9th Sept 2011 at 11.00 a.m at our college.
Utkarsh Training Camp:-
The training camp for selected vol. of utkarsh from 18th Nov 2011 to 20th Nov 2011. To train them to participate at state level socio-cultural competition Utkarsh 2011 from 21st Nov. 2011 to 24th Nov 2011.
Participation at University level inter-collegiate cultural events:-
The various NSS organized inter collegiate events like Anubhav 2012 Dalmia college, Sphurti 2012, M.D. college, etc. were the Vol. of our college participated and won the prizes.
MSAC organized University level AIDS awareness camp at chembur:-
The one Male and one Female participant from our NSS Unit were involved in this camp It was from 21st Dec to 23rd Dec 2011. The participents got the participation certificate.

College level activities
Inaugration and Orientation of NSS:-
We inaugurated our NSS units for the year 2011-2012 on 23rd July 2011 & on the same day newly enrolled Vol. get Oriented under the orientation Programme on 23rd July 2011 under the guidance of Prof. Gokul Sikhare. The district co-ordinater of NSS Thane west Zone.
Distribution of note Books:-
On 23rd July 2011 we distributed note books as per the order of honourable vice chanceller Dr. Rajendra Velulkar to the nearest Muncipal School Navghar, Bhayandar Around 1200 note books were distributed to the needy children.
NSS Day Celebration :-
The volunteers of NSS remained present to hoast and salute the National Flage on 15th Aug 2011 at 9.00 am
Campus Development Project:-
To maintain the campus clean the NSS Volunteers comes together and time to time clean the campus.
World Handicap Day
NSS unit & praschik abnormal child Institute Jointly celebrated 3rd Dec at world Handicap Day organizing rally with Handicap children to get it awareness by the local community.
Achivement for the year 2011-12

- District level Best P.O. Best NSS Unit & Best vol. Award
- Utkarsh championship trophy Headed by Team manager Dr. Surekha Mishra (P.O.), Miss Prajakta Sawant, of our college NSS Unit got 1st Prize in group song at Utkarsh 2011 Miss Prajakta Sawant & Mr. Akshay Khaire were participated in Utkarsh 2011 Rally on save girl that rally got 2nd best participant award.
- At inter collegiate socio- cultural event Anubhav got 1st Prize in Elocation & story telling where as 3rd Prize in poster making Debate, Quiz & Fashion show. At Dalmiya college.
- In Sphurti 2nd prize for group song at M.D.College.
- The P.O. Dr. Surekha Mishra invited as a guest speaker on Topic woman Empowerment at leadership camp, Dahanu, Residential camp of Talasari College, special workshop on woman empowerment at Karjat.
