Commerce Association Report 2011-12
With the aim of providing a platform to develop the good personality of the students and to make them acquainted with the practicability of trade, business and management, commerce association was formed in the month of August 2004 in the college.
We started the activities for the academic year 2011-2012 since August 2011.
The association arranged Essay Writing Competition on different topics of Commerce like,
There were 2 types of essay writing
In at home essay writng competition, 27 students and on the spot essay writing competition, 23 students participated.
Debate competition was held on 21st September 2011.on the various topics like Corruption in India, Role of Police and related.18 students participated and elaborate issue on both sides.
Slogan Competition was held on 12th November 2011 and 163 students participated and prepared slogan on different social issues, goods and services. The exhibition of posters on advertisement of the previous competition was showcased on 18th February 2012. 200 posters were selected for the same.
Advertising is very creative subject and compulsory for S.Y.B.Com level and as per Mumbai University Guidelines, So the Association realized the situation by motivating students to prepare project as per given instruction by Prof. Ajit Jadhav. Best project will be awarded with special trophies and certificate.592 students submitted their project and the best are selected.
The association organized a Guest lecture of Mr. Rajesh Patil on “Advertising as a Career” on 18th February 2011. He underlined the vertical and horizontal accommodative capacity of Advertising field. We appreciated students by offering them appreciation certificate and trophies for their outstanding work in different activities conducted throughout the Academic year 2011-2012. All the activities were successfully organized due to excellent co-operation of all those who were linked with the Association.
I sincerely thanks to Chairperson of Commerce Association Dr. Surekha. B. Mishra and to Mr. Ajit Jadhav and to Mr. Deepak Sukhija for their co-operation.
I would like to express my special thanks to the respected Fonder Chairman of Shankar Narayan Education Trust, Shri. Rohidasji Patil, Member of Management Council; University of Mumbai, Shri. Maheshji Mhatre and would also l like to express my gratitude towards respected Principal Dr. V.N.Yadav for much needed support and guidance and Non-teaching Staff and also to the Students for their active participation in making the activities a Grand Success.
