The Commerce and Arts degree courses commenced simultaneously
in 1994 with rented accommodation as the College premises. The
foundation stone for the current building, an imposing four- storeyed
edifice, was laid in 1994 and the structure completed in 1998.
From a modest initial roll of 42, the College today educates over
2500 students in 28 airy, environment- friendly and spacious classrooms
and has both the facilities and infrastructure to cater to all
educational needs. The students undergo full-fledged degree courses
for B.Com and B.Arts. The Junior College (Commerce) was added
in 1999 followed by the introduction of the Junior College (Arts)
in 2003.
Though basically a Commerce and Arts College,
the B.Sc. I.T. degree course was started in 2001. The was largely
possible due to the foresight and tenacity of the Trustees and
Management who refused to take a back seat in the face of galloping
technological advancements. Management Study Courses, enabling
attainment of B.M.S. degrees, became a reality in 2003. This was
quickly followed by the introduction of B.Com (Banking & Insurance)
and B.Com (Accounting & Finance) Courses in 2004. To cater
for a burgeoning group of engineering enthusiasts, the first Polytechnic,
in the Mira-Bhayandar areas, was inaugurated in 2002. The Pravin
Rohidas College of Diploma Engineering and Technology offers a
three-year degree course for Polytechnic Diploma Engineering.
In addition, courses for Information Technology (IT), Computer
Engineering (CE), Computer Technology (CT) and Electronics and
Telecommunications (El & Tele) are also being successfully
conducted. The Junior College (Science) was started in 2005.
